How is this for hypiocrisy?

The Los Angeles Times:
DeLay's Own Tragic Crossroads
# Family of the lawmaker involved in the Schiavo case decided in '88 to let his comatose father die.
By Walter F. Roche Jr. and Sam Howe Verhovek, Times Staff Writers

1. Tom Delay pulled the plug on his own father's life.
2. Tom Delay sued the company that produced a part which caused his father's death!!

And to top it - read this:
For all of Tom DeLay's public espousal of Christian values, particularly his deep commitment to family, he privately has nursed a terrible estrangement from his own mother and three siblings. After the 1988 death of his father and the rise of his career in Washington, DeLay cut off contact with all three siblings, and seven years ago he stopped attending DeLay family gatherings. He has not seen or talked to his mother, Maxine, in two years, even though she lives about 10 miles away from Sugar Land; nor did he invite any of them to his daughter's 1999 wedding or even mention his mother in the published wedding announcement.
All through his roomy home are many photographs of his wife, his daughter and his in-laws -- but not a single one of the DeLays. Throughout our conversations, this rift is the only subject that he adamantly will not discuss.

An Easter Biblical Lesson of being a true Texan, the Republican Leader of the House as well as in Hypocrisy!!

F-16 sale to Pakistan

On every single front the Bush malAdministration breathes hypocrisy.

The latest is the decision to sell F-16 fighters to Pakistan as "(they) are vital to Pakistan's security as President Musharraf prosecutes the war on terror", the US official is quoted as saying.

Does Osama bin Laden have any aircraft or ground forces that need F-16 to counter his brand of terrorism?

The only use of F-16s, as far as Pakistan is concerned, is against India.

Like the US armed Saddam, the Taliban, Osama bin Laden, purely to satisfy the financial interests of the US Defence Contractors and corporate interests, this deal will backfire on the US and no one else!!

If the Indian Government accepts this hypocrisy - woe be to them!!

This says it ....

DeLay, Deny and Demagogue by MAUREEN DOWD Published: March 24, 2005

"As the Bush White House desperately maneuvers in Iraq to prevent the new government from being run according to the dictates of religious fundamentalists, it desperately maneuvers here to pander to religious fundamentalists who want to dictate how the government should be run.

Maybe President Bush should spend less time preaching about spreading democracy around the world and more time worrying about our deteriorating democracy.

The president, who couldn't be dragged outdoors to talk about the more than a hundred thousand people who died in the horrific tsunami, was willing to be dragged out of bed to sign a bill about one woman his base had fixated on. But with the new polls, the White House seemed to shrink back a bit."

Thank you you wonderful Brits

The protest in London at Trafalgar Square is truly a wonderful sight to our eyes. The White Peace Tent is visible along with the thousands who have gathererd there to show Bush and Blair that trhey are war criminals.

Trafalgar Square Protest - Web cam at 17.00 hours

Trafalgar Square Protest - Web cam at 17.00 hours

This is not a rigged Saddam Statue felling web shot - there are real people with real feelings out there and you can watch it live!!

I only hope that Liberal Leader Charles Kennedy will listen to my advice.

He should not field any Liberal candidate against any Labour or Conservative MP who is outspokenly against the war and ensure that he puts up his Liberal candidates against all the hard core liars and Blair sycophants.

The entire Anti War lobby should organise to win the next election and topple these warmongers.

"...very very frightening."; "It is horrific."

Bonnie M. Anderson Looks at the "News"

Bonnie M. Anderson: To me, this was a huge development and it’s what's wrong with journalism in this country. You have an Administration lying to the public and participating in pulling the wool over the eyes of the public to advance their own agenda. Call me old school. Call me old fashioned or a dinosaur, but I think government should be about protecting the Bill of Rights. Government should be truthful to the American public, and not about trying to manipulate the public and, in this case, also manipulating the media. We also had commentators who were pretending to give their honest opinion on issues, when they were being paid by the Administration to promote an agenda. This, to me, is very, very frightening. Red flags should be going up all over this country. Unfortunately, I’m not so sure that there will be that sort of national debate or alarm over this. It is horrific.

Profile of Bonnie M. Anderson

I blame the cowardly MEDIA and the tarty so-called journalists!!

Does this describe a Bushian "Christian"?

Robert Sheer in his column in the Los Angeles Times writes about the new culture of neocon greed, cleverly disguised as "Christianity":

"So why gut the bankruptcy law now? Greed, pure and simple. And, pathetically, this bankers' dream is becoming a reality through the support of Republicans who have decided, as they often do with social issues, to selectively pick and choose when to follow the teachings of the Bible.

"A key sponsor of the bill, Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), actively opposes abortion and same-sex marriage on biblical grounds yet believes the Good Book's clear definition and condemnation of usury is irrelevant. The Old Testament, revered by Jews, Muslims and Christians alike, mandates debt forgiveness after seven years, as was pointed out earlier this month by an organization of Christian lawyers in a letter to Grassley. "I can't listen to Christian lawyers," said the senator, "because I would be imposing the Bible on a diverse population." The Bankruptcy Bill: A Tutorial in Greed, Commondreams, 3/15/05

Dr. Teresa Whitehurst is a clinical psychologist, author of Jesus on Parenting: 10 Essential Principles That Will Transform Your Family (2004) and coauthor of The Nonviolent Christian Parent (2004). She offers parenting workshops, holds discussion groups on Nonviolent Christianity, and writes the column, "Democracy, Faith and Values: Because You Shouldn’t Have to Choose Just One".

In her first submission to BuzzFlash, pointing to Sheer's column, she writes "Don’t Let the Car Fool You, My Real Treasure is in Heaven": Bushianity Makes a Mockery of Christ
"Bushianity is really all about power and wealth -- the divine right of the haves to get more of each, in order to better supervise the have-nots. Bushianity is quietly (discretely, always discretely) hostile to Jesus’ teachings, but loudly praises his birth (before he could teach) and his death (after he could teach). Nothing between those two events in Jesus’ life is of interest to Bushians, who greatly prefer the fire-breathing biblical writers advocating ruthless wars, slavery, female submission, the masses’ unquestioning obedience of rulers, and the death penalty for homosexuals and rebellious children."

The only qualm I have with that is that the "Christian" Bush followers do not believe in any of the 10 commandments to apply to themselves, but they expect all non-followers of "Bushanity" to adhere to it at the convenience of the Bushians.

New York Times now moves to Editorialise the issue

I am sure it is not only me that is hammering the subject of the Mainstream Media being used as male prostitutes by the Bush malAdministration.

Today the New York Times ran an Editorial entitled And Now, the Counterfeit News which talked about how news organizations deceive the public when they pass off segments produced by the White House's public relations machine as real news.

In the entire editorial the New York Times was careful to try to distance itself from this shameful behaviour.

I had no option than to send a letter to the editor which read:

Dear Editor,

Referring to you above Editorial of today, taking the mote of other people's eyes seems to be a speciality of The New York Times.

What the public wants to know is the degree of complicity of YOUR ORGANISATION in this counterfeiting of news - or are you claiming that you were NOT involved? And let us not have it on the bottom of the last column on page 127!!

When I posted this on the Democaratic Underground Forum, one person drew attention to what I thought was a excellent cartoon by Artist Crowe (Copyright Crowe):

And now New York Times reveals all

A case of the Pot calling the Kettle BLACK?

You read my letter to the Editor of New York Times in a prervious entry. And now this male prostituting press reveals that it is

Under Bush, a New Age of Prepackaged News

In an eight web page article by By DAVID BARSTOW and ROBIN STEIN, the absolute criminality of the Bush Administration is revealed.

"Thank you, Bush. Thank you, U.S.A.," a jubilant Iraqi-American told a camera crew in Kansas City for a segment about reaction to the fall of Baghdad. A second report told of "another success" in the Bush administration's "drive to strengthen aviation security"; the reporter called it "one of the most remarkable campaigns in aviation history." A third segment, broadcast in January, described the administration's determination to open markets for American farmers.

To a viewer, each report looked like any other 90-second segment on the local news. In fact, the federal government produced all three. The report from Kansas City was made by the State Department. The "reporter" covering airport safety was actually a public relations professional working under a false name for the Transportation Security Administration. The farming segment was done by the Agriculture Department's office of communications...."

Such treachery was organised by a malAdministration which does not have evn one success to its name.

Now we know why there were 60 million idiots who voted for him!! (Were you one of them?) They lap up the TV news as well as what they get from the pews of their "fundamentalist church" without even thinking for a moment or weighing up what is going on around them. They are the Zombies of the world, led by the biggest Zombie of all time!! A man who cannot even handle a heckler (see previous blog entry.)

The complicity of the TV media in this process is seen from this:

"Several major television networks play crucial intermediary roles in the business. Fox, for example, has an arrangement with Medialink to distribute video news releases to 130 affiliates through its video feed service, Fox News Edge. CNN distributes releases to 750 stations in the United States and Canada through a similar feed service, CNN Newsource. Associated Press Television News does the same thing worldwide with its Global Video Wire."

Or take this example:

"On Sept. 11, 2002, WHBQ, the Fox affiliate in Memphis, marked the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with an uplifting report on how assistance from the United States was helping to liberate the women of Afghanistan.

Tish Clark, a reporter for WHBQ, described how Afghan women, once barred from schools and jobs, were at last emerging from their burkas, taking up jobs as seamstresses and bakers, sending daughters off to new schools, receiving decent medical care for the first time and even participating in a fledgling democracy. Her segment included an interview with an Afghan teacher who recounted how the Taliban only allowed boys to attend school. An Afghan doctor described how the Taliban refused to let male physicians treat women.

In short, Ms. Clark's report seemed to corroborate, however modestly, a central argument of the Bush foreign policy, that forceful American intervention abroad was spreading freedom, improving lives and winning friends.

What the people of Memphis were not told, though, was that the interviews used by WHBQ were actually conducted by State Department contractors. The contractors also selected the quotes used from those interviews and shot the video that went with the narration. They also wrote the narration, much of which Ms. Clark repeated with only minor changes."

And the New York Times has also been totally and completely complict in this scheme!! Remember Judith Miller and her special relationship to Ahmed Chalabi?

A pResident who cannot even handle a heckler?

I Got Ejected from a George Bush Event!

by Mike Bailey

I just had one of the most exciting moments of my life. I think it probably comes in second (after my wedding), and ahead of the first time I swam in the ocean, and receiving U2 tickets (for Dublin) from my wife.

I just got thrown out of one of George Bush's Social Security "town meetings." You know, the ones where he scoots around the country, fills up a room full of Kool-Aid-drinking Republicans, and answers softball questions (or just gives his sales pitch with no questions). And all on the taxpayer dime.

Yep, I sat there like a good boy, up in the nosebleed section, clapping for Anne Northup (our Bush clone congresswoman), praying in Jesus' name, and all that good stuff. Then Bush got up and gave his one-sided Social Security talk. I finally couldn't take it anymore, and I stood up and shouted my opinions. "Let's not use Social Security money for private accounts! I like private accounts, I've got two! A 401k and a Roth. But let's not steal from Social Security! How about private accounts outside of Social Security?" People started shushing me with furrowed brows and shocked expressions. "Shhh. That's rude!" I just kept on yelling. "Mr. President, can't you hear me?" I repeated my mantra over and over and he kept on talking, trying to ignore me. He began to stumble a bit on words. I don't blame the guy. It's hard to keep your lies straight when someone is yelling the truth at you. And the acoustics at Whitney Hall are amazing! The truth was echoing from the rafters....More

A pResident who cannot visit any country in the world, who cannot even face legitimate questions from his own people in his own country. Even for the tsunami disaster he could not visit the affected countries but had to send two aging Presidents in his stead. the world's most hated man - even more than Osama bin Laden.

What has America become?

Great work Mike. Your actions resound around the world.

An American answers an American question

Today, on the Democratic Underground Forum, a question was raised:

Seriously - What Makes America "The Greatest Nation In The World"? (by matcom )

One answer stood out to me:

"We are not the best educated
we are not the most free
we do not have the highest standard of living
we do not have the greatest life expectancy
we do not have the lowest infant mortality rate
we do not have the best health care system
we are not the safest
we do not have the lowest crime rate
we do not have the lowest murder rate
we are certainly not the most respected or loved nation
we are not the most honorable
we are not the most trusted
we are not the most generous

How ever we are the best consumers and polluters
We are the most arrogant
We are the best at waging war

Does this make me unAmerican? No.

I would love to see our country once again be what it once was. We were once respected and loved by the world. I want to see us return to our former glory." (reply by bowens43)

I could add many more items to both lists, but it would only stand out as if i was blatantly anti-American!! I am not. However I am anti-Bush, whole-heartedly.

Two references in the same day

This morning as I was listening to Mike Webb, the liberal talk show host from Seattle, Washington State, one lady called in to ask whether Mike had heard of the blog called Baghdad Burning by a young Iraqi lady who is known by her blog name of Riverbend (...I'll meet you 'round the bend my friend, where hearts can heal and souls can mend..),

Strangely, Mike had not heard of this outstanding young woman, a now unemployed computer scientist, who has been blogging out of Baghdad from the beginning of 2003.

The lady speaking to Mike had received a personal email from Riverbend, which sort of tied in with the latest blog entry on how life for women in Iraq had become intolerable ever since the invasion and occupation by the Americans.

Under Saddam women were permitted university education, earned the same amount as men, and enjoyed a wide set of freedoms not found in most other neighbouring countries. Women also served in Iraq's army.

The lady had read out the email from Riverbend at an Open Mike hour, which is quite common in many bookstores in America. She said how surprised she was at the positive response she had had from young people who had heard her. They told her they had no idea how life had become so bad for women in Iraq after the American assault!!

This is something that the male prostitutes, that pass as the mainstream American media, do not report!!

This evening, as I was coming down to the cellar, I heard Annikki listening to Finnish Radio. Annikki suddenly asked me whether I had ever heard of the woman...

Even before Annikki could finish the question, I told her all about Riverbend, whose not so regular blogging has been part of my daily web surfing routine to see what she may have written.

Thank you Riverbend for keeping us informed about what is happening in your country. And we pray for all of you.

My letter to the New York Times, today

Dear Editor,

Please accept my heartiest congratulations on Bill Keller's truly
historic award from BuzzFlash which can be viewed at:

Executive Editor Bill Keller

Your wonderful coverage of the new UN Report today:

UN inspectors: 90 dangerous sites looted in Iraq

and the excellent coverage of this report on Human Rights by the
Chinese Government:

Chinese slams US human rights report

certainly proves that, not only your outstanding Executive Editor, but
many others in your great organization of immense journalistic talent
deserve to be included in this historic award which he now shares in
the year 2005 with Bush Jr., Wolf Blitzer of CNN, Howard Kurz of
the Washington Post, Jeff Gannon aka James Guckert of Talon
News, the new Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, the new
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
and many other such
great stalwarts of "Democracy and the Rule of Truth and Law"
of previous years.

They all form part of the wonderful and historic "educated" American

Correspondence with an "educated" American

which is my rather lengthy correspondence with one such an elite and
truly "educated" American in the mold of that truly great the late
Canadian Gordon Sinclair as espoused in his rousing broadcast of June
5th 1973.:

The Americans

Well done. The world, even in this small near Arctic outpost in
Finland, is watching you with such great awe.

(Sarcasm OFF.)
Jacob Matthan
Oulu, Finland

What a TURN AROUND!!!!

In 1989 I stopped my Professor at the University of Oulu from proceeding to China to deliver a talk at the Microelectronics Conference in Beijing as a result of the events surrounding Tiananmen Square .

Today, China, of all countries, has released a report concerning the Human Rights Record of the US!!

If I was a self-respecting American, I would be hanging my head in shame after reading the contents of this report. Released by the Information Office of China's State Council, a multitude of cases are presented that show that serious violations of human rights can be publicly witnessed in the US and by the US!! But, as can be expected, most Republican and Democratic Senators have no self-respect as they follow the God of MONEY, and with that there is NO SHAME!!

That is the "American Dream" with false virtues which they call their "Christian GOD". They follow none of the principles of Christ and yet claim to be "Christian"!!

"The report reviewed the human rights record of the United States in 2004 from six perspective: Life, Liberty and Security of Persons; Political Rights and Freedom; Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; Racial Discrimination; Rights of Women and Children; and Infringement of Human Rights of Foreign Nationals."

"In 2004 the atrocity of US troops abusing Iraqi POWs exposed the dark side of human rights performance of the United States. The scandal shocked the humanity and was condemned by the international community. It is quite ironic that on Feb. 28 of this year, the State Department of the United States once again posed as the 'the world human rights police' and released its Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2004. As in previous years, the reports pointed fingers at human rights situation in more than 190 countries and regions (including China) but kept silent on the US misdeeds in this field. Therefore, the world people have to probe the human rights record behind the Statue of Liberty in the United States."

This paragraph made it clear what people, not only in China, but all over the world, think:

"Boasted as a "paragon of democracy", the United States democracy is manipulated by the rich and malpractice"

With such persons as the liar Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State, the torture promoter Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General, and the architects of the El Salvadoran Death Squads John Dimitri Negroponte, Otto J. Reich and Elliot Abrams, amongsst a whole host of others, to support the evil and corrupt regime of Bush, Chenney, Rumsfeld and gang, is it no wonder that even a country like China can tell it as it is!

And who are these rich. They are the corrupt Senators and Congressmen, and especially the Bush Crime Family!!

So expect the arrogance of the corrupt Americal politcial system which is kept in place by a male prostituting (Jeff Gannon / James Guckert) style American mainstream media to scoff at such reports!!

Thank you China for telling it as it is.
