US asked to withdraw from region

At the conclusion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting at ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 5 2005, the member countries, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, included this comment relating to Afghanistan in their final communique:

However, as large-scale military operations against terrorism have come to an end in Afghanistan, the leaders urged parties to the coalition to set a deadline for the temporary use of the SCO members' infrastructure facilities and for their military presence in these countries.

Also present at this meeting were observers from India and Pakistan.

It is obvious that the presence of western powers in this region is not considered to be conducive to peace!!
