Thank you Jimmy Carter

Former US President, 2002 Nobel Peace prize winner, Jimmy Carter, said on Saturday the detention of terror suspects at the Guantanamo Bay Naval base was an embarrassment and had given extremists an excuse to attack the United States.

He added that the US invasion in Iraq "unnecessary and unjust."

His news conference was at the Baptist World Alliance's centenary conference in Birmingham, England and was reported By CASSANDRA VINOGRAD, Associated Press Writer Carter: Guantanamo Detentions Disgraceful By CASSANDRA VINOGRAD, Associated Press Writer, July 30, 2005, 5:32 PM EDT.

This comes in the wake of statement to the Italian Court by the alleged fake bomb perpetrator who had been arrested in Italy and is facing extradition proceedings to the UK.

The 27-year-old Ethiopian-born Briton, Osman Hussain, a suspected member of the 21 July bomb scare cell, told investigators he was motivated by the Iraq war, not religion. He said that they had been emotionally moved by having seen videos of innocent women and children being killed by the US and UK forces in Iraq.

"Rather than praying, we had discussions about work, politics, the war in Iraq," Hussain said of the gatherings in the gym, according to La Repubblica newspaper and an Italian news agency.

The would-be bombers watched films, "especially those in which you saw women and children killed and exterminated by the English and American soldiers, or widows, mothers and daughters who were crying".

The important points to note are:

1. The attack on London on 210705 had nothing to do with Al Qaida.
2. The attack of London was due to direct emotional link to the invasion and occupation of a country which had had no links to international terrorism.
3. The invasion and occupation of Iraq by US and UK, on false premises, along with the bribed coalition of the willing, is the cause of moving the hearts and minds of people around the world to express themselves in ways that border on terrorism. That is because the power block refuse to listen to the people and the cowards, as Bush and Blair, hide behind their skirts of power. People express their deep passion at these atrocities by these two war criminals in different ways, just as the French resistance to the Germans during World War II. It would be fair to remember that it was the UK which gave safe haven and supplies to those "French terrorists (aka resistance fighters)"!

The only people responsible for spreading "terrorism" and the language of hate around this globe are the war criminals, Bush and Blair.

What amazes me is why...

What amazes me is why so many people will accept being humiliated by those that sponsor and encourage terrorism - Bush and Blair.

The report that a group of five British tourists who were removed from a bus by police and forced to kneel on the pavement.

They just happened to be of the Sikh religion!

Does it mean that this humiliation will not happen to you?

Think again - if you are a minority - you are already a victim of this escalation of this hate era.

A recent report said that the majority of Muslims in the UK want to leave.

This is exactly the plan of the Bushites and Blairites.

The intention is to make it impossible for the ethnic minorities that these extremist war criminals do not like, so as to to force these innocent peace-loving people to think about leaving their homeland.

What the Bushites and Blairites do not understand is that those that uproot themselves will be the terrorists of tomorrow. Since their movement away from their country to a new location will be "temporary" they will continue to hold legitimate passports to carry out the terrorism at locations of their choosing!!

Democracy in the US has been flushed down the toilet

"With absolute control of the election mechanism and the renewed Patriot Act, Democracy in the US has been flushed down the toilet.

With the US election system so well tied down (just ignore the inconvenient Congressman John Conyers Jr. comprehensive report Preserving Democracy: What Went Wrong in Ohio), there is NO WAY the Republicans can lose the 2006 or 2008 elections. Republicans in the House and Congress will have just to continue to stonewall the paper trail formula to ensure this. Republicans also have so many wonderful lapbitches and lapdogs, as Senate aspirant Katherine Harris and "anti-wiggers" like Ohio Governor aspirant Ken Blackwell, respectively, in place, that "total fairness" (like Fox's Fair and Balanced) of all US important elections is ensured.

Republicans will, however, have to ensure a fool-proof method that "dumb" Democrats do not find a way to hack into these rigged voting and counting machines!! Also, the need for the nonsensical exit polls for US elections has to be removed.

With so many co-operating Zell Miller type Democrat House and Senate members, who know they are otherwise toast, there is no way out of this beautifully engineered fascist scenario. The Democrats, except those who subscribe to Republican ideals of true fascism, such as Joe Biden of Delaware (of "I like you" fame) and Bill Nelson of Florida (remember his vote on the bankruptcy legislation), can now quietly say "bye, bye" to their chances of election or re-election!!

One should recall Rep. James Sensenbrenner's, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, remarkable performance, watched around the world on CSpan, when he unilaterally closed the Democrat convened Judiciary Committee proceedings? Do we need any better antic than that to know how true democracy should work?

All the world knows what a "wonderful democracy" is functioning in the US.

In today's Republican "democratic" world - conveniently "Yes" is "No" and "No is Yes". Does that distorted voice vote ruling by the House Speaker the other day in Congress ring a bell? It was indeed unfortunate that Randi Rhodes played it again and again on Air America Radio!!

Republicans have to be careful that there are not many "cry-babies"! in their midst, like Senator George V. Voinovich from Ohio, who have sudden but, luckily, short-lived pangs of a conscience. And the mistake of Senator Norm Coleman of allowing George Galloway to have a say directly to the American people is unforgiveable.

Remember how the Press Secretary Scott McClellan said the other day that the no convicted criminals would be allowed to serve in this Bush Administration. I do not know how to stop the count on all those who were convicted and then pardoned at the end of the Regan - former Bush era (this was an inconvenient blog entry Bush's Felon Job Placement Program by LondonYank) who are serving in and for this Administration!!

It is apparent that with this Administration, white is black - so that is why there is such an "overwhelming number" of Republican "black" representatives (100%) in the House and Senate - I am still counting!! An occasional casual and heartfelt apology (GOP: ‘We were wrong' to play racial politics: RNC apologizes for Nixon-era strategy and not courting blacks in the past) at the NAACP by Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman is sufficient to show the world how much the Republicans care for this "minority".

Of 3,643 Republicans serving in the state legislatures, only 44 are minorities, or 1.2 percent. In the Congress, with 274 of the 535 elected senators and representatives Republican, only five are minorities - three Cuban Americans from Florida, a Mexican American from Texas and a Native American senator originally elected as a Democrat. [NOTE FROM JOHN: That means the GOP has elected ZERO blacks to Congress.]

It is useful to have anti-wiggers as bloggers as Robert A. George RAGGED THOTS blog and, of course, as highly principled journalists, as Armstrong Williams. It is indeed unfortunate that the story about the absolutely professional behaviour of Mr. Williams was revealed (Education Dept. paid commentator to promote law.

The target now is to show that "Freedom is on the march" and to ensure that this new type of US Democracy is spread around the world!! (Sarcasm OFF)

Not only a liar, but SHAMELESS as well

Blair said today in a press briefing which is in a BBC report Blair: Iraq no excuse for terror

"11 September for me was a wake up call. Do you know what I think the problem is? That a lot of the world woke up for a short time and then turned over and went back to sleep again."

He said he would not "give an inch to terrorism" and "Iraq was no excuse for the London bombings".

Blair seems to forget that over 10 million people all over the world came out against the invasion and occupation of Iraq on false pretences - not terrorism, but claims of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Blair also seems to forget that even Bush has publicly stated that there is NO CONNECTION between Saddam Hussain and 911.

The world has never been asleep. We are awake and watching with horror how power corrupts and how corrupt men like Bush and Blair are to hang on to power, even ignoring that history will show them to be WAR CRIMINALS of the same mould as Hitler!!

Besides being a confirmed LIAR, how much more SHAMELESS can this man be?

Sunday, July 24, 2005

Is it OK for the terrorists to just say SORRY?

It was confirmed today that the man who was yesterday chased and shot dead in Stockwell Tube Station by the London Police had nothing whatsoever to do with the London bombings on 707, or those attempted bombings on 2007.

A Scotland Yard statement said the shooting was a "tragedy" which was regretted by the Metropolitan Police.

The man was shot dead after police followed him from a south London flat to Stockwell Tube station on Friday.......

The statement read: "We believe we now know the identity of the man shot at Stockwell Underground station by police on Friday 22nd July 2005, although he is still subject to formal identification.

"We are now satisfied that he was not connected with the incidents of Thursday 21st July 2005.

"For somebody to lose their life in such circumstances is a tragedy and one that the Metropolitan Police Service regrets."

The statement confirmed the man was followed by police from a block of flats that was under surveillance.

The man's death is being investigated by officers from the MPS Directorate of Professional Standards, and will be referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The Police chased an innocent man, who obviously fled in fear for his life and, then, when they trapped him, the killed a man who was down on the ground, helpless and cowering, in front of them.

Is Blair saying "Sorry" and counting this as "Collateral" damage to preserve his values and ideology?

Is it OK for the "terrorists" to just say "SORRY" for the "collateral damage" they cause?

What has this world become?

The US and British have destroyed any semblance of law and order in this world by their pre-emptive behaviour, not only in Iraq, but on the streets of their countries as well as in other countries around the world. The kidnapping in Italy by the CIA is a story by itself.

The Police who were involved with this killing of this innocent man in London Stockwell Tube Station should be tried, condemned, strung up and flogged in public.

But, above all, the man behind this chaos, Tony Blair, is the one who should be flogged till he is black and blue.

Let him make public peace with his "Maker" for all the "Blood of innocents on his hands" during his flogging.

British public should be super-vigilant

The London authorities said that to prevent further bombings, the London public should be super vigilant.

Are they asking the Iraqi public to be super-vigilant about the insurgents attacking the invading forces in Iraq?

Seems a case of double standards without any principles to look at facts.

Ridiculous analyses of 2nd London bombing attempt

It is being suggested by the authorities and the media that all the four bombs failed to explode today in London and only the detonators went off.

I hardly think there would be a hundred percent success on one occasion and a hundred percent failure in another.

The two bombings in London were two different messages from the bombers to the people of UK.

The first occasion was to cause injury and mayhem.

The second was to cause chaos and confusion, just as the Americans and the UK are doing in Iraq. With that they could succeed in disrupting the financial capital of the world - London, and cause an economic crisis. It was carried out when there was little chance of creating much damage - being lunch hour, when tube and bus traffic is very quiet relative to rush hour.

The planners have succeeded in their intent of creating Blairanoia in the UK.

My exchange on the Guardian Newsblog

I had a dialogue with a person called Ramiro on the Guardian Newsblog. Much like my correspondence with the "educated" American, Ramiro called me a terrorist, a terrorist sympathiser, and of course, he felt that he may have to report me to the FBI.

I found that the Moderator of the Guardian Newsblog removed the posts of Ramiro as they were offensive to him. However, my responses were allowed to remain. When I went to answer Ramiro's last posting, the Newsblog was closed.

My final reply is found at the end of this blog entry.

Me responding to Ramiro:

"If telling the truth makes me a terrorist, please consider me one.
I do not shut my eyes and ears to what is happening in the world. I can read signs and they are absolutely clear what the bombers wanted to say with this series of bombings.
Ignore it at your will and peril!!
You obviously do not want to accept what brings terrorists to act on your shores as you want to be like that man called Bush who want to "fight them there" instead of " here".
Dead Iraqis, however, on the scale of London of two weeks ago on a daily basis, may be OK by you. Who are the terrorists there - the US and UK forces!!
I have already been reported to the FBI after my email correspondence with an "educated" American before the Iraq invasion. (See my blog for a link.)"

Posted by Jacob Matthan on July 21, 2005 05:29 PM.

Me replying to Ramiro:

"If opposing the US and UK invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, killing of 2 million innocent children, women, opposing Abu Gharib and Guantanamo torture, calling Bush and Blair exactly what they, and exposing their deeds - makes me a terrorist sympathiser in your eyes - well, so be it.
To me, if you are a supporter of the war criminals Bush and Blair in any way whatsoever, then YOU ARE THE TERRORISTS SYMPATHISERS!!"

Posted by Jacob Matthan on July 21, 2005 05:58 PM.

An addition to my previous reply to Ramiro:

"Ramiro - please do not show your ignorance about what is happening in Iraq.
Have you heard of John Negroponte and the El Salvador Death Squads?
Did you hear WHY doctors in Iraq (Baghdad Hospital Doctors on Strike Against Soldiers by Mussab Al-Khairallawent) ON STRIKE last Tuesday?"

Posted by Jacob Matthan on July 21, 2005 06:05 PM.

Me replying to Ramiro - but the Newsblog was closed before this entry was posted and Ramiro's posts were removed:

"Maybe you eyesight needs checking - you "conveniently" forgot to read the words "and Iraq".

And maybe you do not know that the situation for Afghani women today is WORSE than when the Taliban were in power - but I assume you are quite happy with that.

March 2005: "Sonali Kolhatkar, co-director of the Afghan Women's Mission, Pasadena, CA, and host of Uprising on KPFK, Pacifica radio, will speak on the terrible conditions still facing Afghan women, and the lack of progress on education, employment, poverty reduction, and warlord domination in Afghanistan. Kolhatkar found that main-stream media coverage of Afghanistan has painted an extremely misleading portrait of Afghan women's "liberation" and the advent of democracy."

And, of course, you are quite happy with Article 14 of the New Iraqi Constitution which will apply Sharia law to the women of Iraq. Maybe you should read the blog "Baghdad Burning" by Riverbend, the Girl Blog from Baghdad!! Of course the fact that Khalid of the blog "Tell Me a Secret" has been abducted by the new Iraqi mukhabarat is insignificant to you.

Be my guest and report me to the FBI, the CIA and MI5, MI6 and anyone other rascals you have access to. If their intelligence is of the same quality that led to the illegal invasion of Iraq, we know what will happen to your information!!"

Blairanoia continues on Columbia Road

The fourth bomb is reported to have exploded in London on the top of a bus on Columbia Road which is between Hackney Road in Bethnal Green Road. It is important to understand the Columbia Road is famous for the Flower market.

It is clear that is is another warning to the people of Britain that they had better get rid of Blair if they want to get out of this cycle of fear.

It also shows that neither the British Governmentn or the British Police are in command of the situation. They may be in control of all the emergency services, but they are being told by the freedom fighters that they can take out any part of the British Isles at THEIR WILL.

This is obviously not a hoax as is being suggested by some correspondents. It is a LOUD MESSAGE!!

It is only a fool (replace that with Blair) that does not understand this message.

Living in Blairanoia?

The news of evacuation of people from the London tube today shows that Britain has been brought under Blairanoia!

Watch the significance of the names of the stations chosen:

Shepherd's Bush = pResident Bush
Oval Station = Oval Office
Warren Street = WAR

Emergency services have been called to three Tube stations after "incidents", Scotland Yard said.

Police confirmed they had been called to Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd's Bush stations.

There have been reports of smoke coming from two of the stations and all three have been evacuated.

The whole of the Northern Line has been suspended, along with the Victoria Line and the Hammersmith and City. There are no reports of any casualties.

Police also confirmed that emergency service personnel have responded to reports of an incident on a route 26 bus in Hackney Road.

A spokesman for London Underground said the nature of the incidents was unknown.

One hospital, near Warren St station, has started its emergency plan.

Sosiane Mohellavi, 35, was travelling from Oxford Circus to Walthamstow when she was evacuated from a train at Warren Street.

"I was in the carriage and we smelt smoke - it was like something was burning.

"Everyone was panicked and people were screaming. We had to pull the alarm. I am still shaking."

A Letter to the British People

Will anyone listen to this lady? Will anyone act to stop this horror? Are people deaf? Are they immobile and disabled, both physically and mentally? Are they going to "wait" and see and watch?

My heart bleeds for these innocenet women and children being murdered by the Americans and British. I am amazed to hear that these barbaric leaders, Bush and Blair, call themselves part of the "civilised" world.

I was amazed to see flags flying half-mast, even in Finland, for the British dead while the daily dose of death in Iraq goes unnoticed, people unsung.

I am sad, I grieve, I cry. Please listen to this lady?

A Letter to the British People.

From Iman AL-Saadun
I am sending this letter to the British people and in particular to the residents of London.

For a period of hours, you have lived through moments of desperate anxiety and horror. In those hours you lost a member of your family or a friend, and we wish to tell you in total honesty that we too grieve when human lives pass away. I cannot tell you how much we hurt when we see desperation and pain on the face of another person. For we have lived through this situation – and continue to live through it every day – since your country and the United States formed an alliance and laid plans to attack Iraq.

The Prime Minister of your country, Tony Blair, said that those who carried out the explosions did so in the name of Islam. The Secretary of State of the United States, Condoleezza Rice, described the bombings as an act of barbarism. The United Nations Security Council met and unanimously condemned the event.

I would like to ask you, the free British people, to allow me to inquire: in whose name was our country blockaded for 12 years? In whose name were our cities bombed using internationally prohibited weapons? In whose name did the British army kill Iraqis and torture them? Was that in your name? Or in the name of religion? Or humanity? Or freedom? Or democracy?

What do you call the killing of more than two million children? What do you call the pollution of the soil and the water with depleted uranium and other lethal substances?

What do you call what happened in the prisons in Iraq – in Abu Ghraib, Camp Bucca and the many other prison camps? What do you call the torture of men, women, and children? What do you call tying bombs to the bodies of prisoners and blowing them apart? What do you call the refinement of methods of torture for use on Iraqi prisoners – such as pulling off limbs, gouging out eyes, putting out cigarettes on their skin, and using cigarette lighters to set fire to the hair on their heads? Does the word “barbaric” adequately describe the behaviour of your troops in Iraq?

May we ask why the Security Council did not condemn the massacre in al-Amiriyah and what happened in al-Fallujah, Tal‘afar, Sadr City, and an-Najaf? Why does the world watch as our people are killed and tortured and not condemn the crimes being committed against us? Are you human beings and we something less? Do you think that only you can feel pain and we can’t? In fact it is we who are most aware of how intense is the pain of the mother who has lost her child, or the father who has lost his family. We know very well how painful it is to lose those you love.

You don’t know our martyrs, but we know them. You don’t remember them, but we remember them. You don’t cry over them, but we cry over them.

Have you heard the name of the little girl Hannan Salih Matrud? Or of the boy Ahmad Jabir Karim? Or Sa‘id Shabram?

Yes, our dead have names too. They have faces and stories and memories. There was a time when they were among us, laughing and playing. They had dreams, just as you have. They had a tomorrow awaiting them. But today they sleep among us with no tomorrow on which to wake.

We don’t hate the British people or other peoples of the world. This war was imposed upon us, but we are now fighting it in defense of ourselves. Because we want to live in our homeland – the free land of Iraq – and to live as we want to live, not as your government or the American government wish.

Let the families of those killed know that the responsibility for the Thursday morning London bombings lies with Tony Blair and his policies. Stop your war against our people! Stop the daily killing that your troops commit! End your occupation of our homeland!

A bit of Bush relief

Submitted by our regular correspondent from Chennai, India (source unknown):

Bush was out jogging one morning. While crossing a bridge, he tripped and fell over the railing of the bridge right into a creek below.

Lucky for him, three kids were out fishing in the creek that day. Without realising that the man who fell into the creek was the President, the kids, without hesitation, dived into the creek and rescued him.

Bush, who was really happy that his life was saved by the kids, said : "Ask for anything and I promise I will make sure you get what you ask for"

The first boy said "I would like a day at Disneyland."

Bush: "Done. I shall send Air Force One to pick you up and you can spend as long as you like at Disneyland."

Second Boy "I would like a special pair of Nike shoes."

Bush: "Done. I will arrange to send a dozen pairs, all autographed by Johnson himself."

Bush to third boy: "What would you like, Son ?"

Third boy: "I would like a special motorised wheelchair, with a special TV monitor, CD player with head phones and a remote."

Bush: "But why do you want a wheel chair ? You are not handicapped."

"I will be," said the boy. "when my Dad finds out I saved your ass from drowning!!"

A Congressman says the Mecca should be BOMBED!!

Congressman Threatens Islamic Holy Sites

A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S. could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons.

Rep. Tom Tancredo made his remarks Friday on WFLA-AM in Orlando, Fla. Talk show host Pat Campbell asked the Littleton Republican in Hour 3 of the programme last Thursday how the country should respond if terrorists struck several U.S. cities with nuclear weapons.

"Well, what if you said something like — if this happens in the United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, you know, you could take out their holy sites," Tancredo answered.

"You're talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said.

"Yeah," Tancredo responded.

You can listen to the idiot saying exactly this at this site.

The stupidity of American politicians seems bottomless.

Already Egyptian President Mubarak warned them about creating a 100 Osama bin Laden's if the invasion of Iraq took place. It has not caused 100, but thousands.

If anyone follows this congressman's advice, it would be a billion Osama bin Laden's.

Of course, pResident Bush is of the same mind as this stupid politician.

Birds of a feather flock together!

Poodle responsibility fixed by Royal Institute

A report just released by the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House, contains the conclusion that there is "no doubt" that the invasion of Iraq has "given a boost to the al-Qaida network" in "propaganda, recruitment and fundraising", while providing an ideal targeting and training area for terrorists.

The Chatham House report is published by the Economic and Social Research Council. The authors are Frank Gregory (Southampton University, Southampton, England)) and Paul Wilkinson (St Andrews University, Fife, Scotland). You can get a pdf version of this 8-page report,

SECURITY, TERRORISM AND THE UK - New report
Riding pillion to the US in order to tackle terrorism is a high-risk policy according to a new report by Chatham House and the Economic & Social Research Foundation. The report assesses Britain's performance in the war on terror, community resilience in light of attacks, the peace process in Northern Ireland and the terrorist threat in elections.

online from the Chatham House Website

The Guardian, Monday 18th July 2005 carries reference to the report in their story London attack 'linked to Iraq'

Other major comments in the report:

"Britain's involvement in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan contributed to the terrorist attacks in London,"....

"Britain's ability to wage counter-terrorism measures has also been hampered because the United States is always in the driving seat in deciding policy initiatives".....

"British authorities did not fully appreciate the threat from al-Qaida".....

"Riding pillion with a powerful ally has proved costly in terms of British and US military lives, Iraqi lives, military expenditure and the damage caused to the counter-terrorism campaign."...

On Sunday, In London, Dr Azzam Tamimi of the Muslim Association of Britain, told a rally at Russell Square, that the Muslim community would not suffer in silence for the crimes of the suicide bombers.

"We will continue to talk, we will continue to write and we will continue to challenge the government. I say to Muslims, do not bow to pressure to keep accepting those pointing fingers at you.

"Say, 'No, I'm not responsible for what happened on July 7. My heart bleeds, I condemn it, yes, but I did not make those boys angry. I did not send those bombs to Iraq. I do not keep people locked in Guantanamo Bay and I do not have anything to do with Abu Ghraib, except to denounce it.' Politicians, see what you have done to this world?"

He said that the bombers must have been "driven to frustration" and, referring to the London attacks, Dr. Tamimi said: "This is what happens when you throw stones and you live in a house of glass."

The finger points directly at "The Poodle"!

Pakistan 'not to blame for bombs'

A BBC News Report Pakistan 'not to blame for bombs'. Here are some quotes from the article:

The UK should try not to blame foreign countries for influencing the London suicide bombers, a leading Pakistani diplomat has said.

Munir Akram, Islamabad's ambassador to the United Nations, spoke after reports linking his country to the killers.... ......

Mr Akram told the BBC that Britain had to look at its own problems to understand the root causes of terror.... .....

But he believes Britain is now a "breeding ground for terrorists too", has its own radical preachers and now "home-grown suicide bombers".... .....

Rather, it was the years spent in Britain that transformed them into the UK's first suicide bombers, he said.

"They were born in Britain, bred there, lived there, worked there, were - by all accounts - British lads.

"What motivated British lads to do this? It is not because their blood was from Pakistan.

"Whatever angst they had was a result of living in Britain." .... .....

"It is important not to pin blame on somebody else when the problem lies internally.

"Your policies in the Middle East, your policies in the Islamic world, that is the problem with your society... and that is where the problem lies as far as this incident is concerned."

"It would be a grave mistake to point fingers at Pakistan or anybody else outside your country." ...... ....

Perfectly clear: The fault lies with the policies of Tony Blair, his lies, his deceit, his double standards, his being the poodle of Bush,...

And let us not beat about Bush about this...

"We cannot change course"....?

One of the most stupid political statements that I have seen for a very very long time was the one I read in the Guardian today.

Blair: we cannot change course is the headline that has flashed around the globe.

As he drives British forces and its people over the precipice, this foolish man keeps yelling that his Foreign Policy, even after the disastrous results terror bombing of London 10 days ago, is the right course.

President Musharaff of Pakistan, however, got it right when he told Blair that he had better stop blaming others and start to look inwards about British Policy which is causing the people of the world to no more accept Britain amongst the list of civilised nations.

Remember, Blair was re-elected in the last General Election. So, the British people cannot hide behind their skirts by saying it is not British Policy to invade unarmed nations under false pretences, to kill innocent women and children, and target Muslims as part of their personal agenda of their elected leaders.

Although I applaud leaders as George Galloway, Robin Cook and Clare Short, the very aspect of reelecting Blair means that Britain remains amongst the pariah nations of this planet.

Iraqis suffocated - That's OK, you scumbag Blair?

11 Iraqi soldiers killed, nine Iraqis suffocate to death in police van as diplomats promised more protection.

Nine Iraqi bricklayers were suffocated to death.

In Baghdad, Iraq's fledgling security forces drew fresh accusations of brutality after witnesses reported that nine bricklayers had suffocated in a police van on Sunday.

Three other men who survived the ordeal were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment early Monday but two were later seized from their sick beds by police commandos.

The Guardian reported:

"The detentions were part of Operation Lightning, a major counterinsurgency sweep that began in May with more than 40,000 Iraqi police and soldiers.

An influential Sunni Muslim group on Monday accused Iraqi security forces of torturing and killing 10 Sunnis. Government officials had no comment, but a doctor at a Baghdad hospital confirmed receiving the bodies.

The Association of Muslim Scholars said members of an Interior Ministry commando brigade detained the men Sunday as they were visiting relatives at Nour Hospital in Baghdad's predominantly Shiite neighborhood of Shula.

"The men were taken to a detention center where they were tortured, then locked in a container where they suffocated,'' the association said in a statement.

A doctor at Baghdad's Yarmouk hospital, where the bodies were taken, said a commando patrol was shot at Sunday in Shula, then returned fire killing one of a group of men who were in the street. The body was taken to Yarmouk and the nine others were detained, the doctor.

The doctor, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal, said the nine detainees appeared to have been mistreated.

Remember that Lizz Brown wrote about another aspect of Operation Lightning - the murder of a doctor!

Anti-Terrorism Law - UK Patriot Act?

Just as Bush played the American people like a fiddle after the September 11 2001 attack on New York and Washington, which finally led to the Patriot Act and the creation of Homeland Security, Blair is doing the same as he sniffs his boss's ass.

U.K.'s Blair Plans New Anti-Terrorism Law After London Attacks

`We express our revulsion at this murderous carnage on the innocent,'' Blair said in Parliament in London today. ``Our country will not be defeated by such terror.''

But Blair has no compunctions of the murderous carnage in progress against the innocent women and children of Iraq. And he feels that their country, Iraq can be defeated by such terror as is being practiced by the US and British troops!!

Also, similar to the attitude of Bush, who had to be dragged kicking and screaming by the dependents of those who lost their lives on 911, to hold the public enquiry into the tragedy, Blair has immediately ruled out any public investigation into this 707 tragedy. Already, both the major opposition political parties have acquiesced their role to challenge Blair about the events of 707.

In a BBC news report Blair vows to hunt down bombers reminiscent of Bush's bold outcry after 911 to being in Osama bin Laden dead or alive, it has become evident that the two major British opposition parties have lost their spine in the wake of this attack.

Conservative leader Michael Howard praised the government's response to last week's atrocity.

"We wish to give the government our full support as they face difficult decisions in the future," he said.

Liberal Democrat Charles Kennedy also struck a note of unity and chose to highlight the condemnation of the attacks by the "vast majority" of British Muslims.

Earlier Mr Howard had called for an inquiry, to see if any lessons could be learned.

In the Commons he said it should be of limited scope with its remit determined by the government and that it should not interfere with the current efforts to identify the dead or catch the bombers.

Watch out Brits - here comes the end of your precious "democracy"!!

New Footer Message on this blog

After reading this report in the New California Media,Criticizing Patriot Act Lands Manlin Chee, Asian American Lawyer, in Jail, I felt I had to add the appropriate footer to this blog.

The present US malAdministration is so vindictive against its opponents, that they use the law enforcement agencies to do their dirty work. I have lost respect for the CIA and the FBI.

And, as was said to me by the "educated" American correspondent, he has probably already reported me to the FBI for my anti-Bush sentiment .

So, remember, that I did not sit quietly while all others were being taken to the American gulags.

When my wife asked me what would happen to us if we should ever visit the US in the term of this corrupt malAdministration - I told her that I would never enter that now despicable country which had been raped and pilaged by Bush and his cohorts - so the question was purely hypothetical.

However, listening to the testimony at the World Tribunal on Iraq, the knock on my door here in Finland, as happened to someone in Sweden, is not altogether an impossibility.

But, I WILL NOT KEEP SILENT.

"Thru Brown Eyes"

I have brown eyes, but I am not talking about myself.

Thanks to whiterosesociety.org, a web site which archives the very best of Liberal Talk Show programmes, I have been introduced to an outstanding woman, LIZZ BROWN.

Her daily broadcast, which is archived on this site, but can also be heard live on the internet, is truly good. She figures among the greats as Mike Malloy, Peter Werbe, Thom Hartmann, Guy James, Tony Trupiano, Bernie Ward, Nate Clay, Ray Taliaferro. She does not shout and scream like Randi Rhodes, and is also not egoistic.

Besides being a great Talk Show Host, when I visited her website Lizz Brown - Thru Brown Eyes, I found she is also a good writer.

Her piece, which is online presently, titled "LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE", is a truly shocking tale from Iraq about the Negroponte El Salvador effect being brought into play, and the targeted killing of an Iraqi doctor who was exposing what the US forces were up to in Iraq.

"Yasser Salihee is dead.

He was on his way to drive his family to a swimming pool in western Baghdad when he was struck by a single bullet to head ---- he died instantly.

Some say he was an unintentional casualty of war. Some whisper “the wolves got him”."

Thank you, Lizz, for your exposing this horrible face of US forces and their cronies, and please keep up the great work of talking and writing about facts as they are.

Another imbecile

Downing Street rejects Howard call for inquiry

Charles Kennedy, leader of the Liberal Democrats, who opposed the Iraq war, said he did not believe the bombings were prompted by the war.

"I wouldn't link what's happened in London to Iraq," he said on News 24.

Another British politician without any balls playing to the gallery!!

Can we have a few more George Galloways standing up?

Mutation into Global Insurgency

Experts fear 'endless' terror war
Analysts say al-Qaida is mutating into a global insurgency

One prominent terrorism researcher sees the prospect of “endless” war. Adds the man who tracked Osama bin Laden for the CIA, “I don’t think it’s even started yet.”

In fact, says Michael Scheuer, the ex-CIA analyst, rather than move toward solutions, the United States took a big step backward by invading Iraq.

One only has to remember the prophetic words of Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, when, before the invasion of Iraq, he is quoted as saying that Egypt's Mubarak Warns '100 Bin Ladens'

"If there is one (Osama) bin Laden now, there will be 100 bin Ladens afterward," Hosni Mubarak said in reference to the al Qaeda terror network leader during a speech to army commanders in the city of Suez, some 80 miles east of the capital, Cairo.

Do the morons Bush and Blair have any memory cells in their brains, or more is the question "Do they have any brains at all?"

A system gone crazy

Stephen Elliott
"And Then There Was A Knock"

Fine, we locked up some very old people for a few weeks, what's done is done. But are we really going to deport them? I mean, can't we, as a society, just apologize, send the old people home, scarred but still alive. Are we really going to deport Hindus to Afghanistan? After eight years? Their whole family in America and no reason to suspect them of anything. Is this what America has become? Are there no checks and balances for this broken system?

Fascism closer in the US by the hour!!

'First they came for the Communists

'First they came for the Communists,
but I was not a Communist,
so I said nothing.
Then they came for the Social Democrats,
but I was not a Social Democrat,
so I did nothing.
Then came the trade unionists,
but I was not a trade unionist.
And then they came for the Jews,
but I was not a Jew,
so I did little.
Then when they came for me,
there was no one left to stand up for me.'

Blair continues to be in self denial

If the US and British invasion and occupation forces can use mercenariues in AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ, why are their adversaries denied that same opportunity? This is known as the "reverse Negroponte effect".

Police hunt 'mercenary' terror gang recruited by al-Qa'ida

In the meantime, serial killer Blair continues to be in a state of self-denial.

In an interview with the BBC's Today programme yesterday, he said: "If people are actually prepared to go on to a Tube or a bus and blow up wholly innocent people ... you can have all the surveillance in the world and you couldn't stop that happening. That is why ultimately the underlying issues have to be dealt with too."

He also denied that he had made London a terrorist target by sending British troops into Afghanistan and Iraq.

Civil war in Iraq

The London Times reports: Allawi: this is the start of civil war by Hala Jaber, Amman.

“The problem is that the Americans have no vision and no clear policy on how to go about in Iraq,” said Allawi, a long-time ally of Washington.

I am afraid that Allawi is wrong. The neocons know exactly what they are doing. They want to retain the state of "CHAOS" as otherwise they cannot remain there and get their abundant supply of unmetered oil from under Iraq.

Since he was not elected, as he was hoping the Americans would rig the election in his favour, Allawi is now shouting "FOUL"!

Allawi said that he had discussed the urgency of rebuilding Iraq’s military with President George W Bush and Donald Rumsfeld, the defence secretary, last year. “Bush earmarked $5.7 billion (£3.2 billion) . . . but I did not receive the money,” Allawi said.

Yes, HE did not receive this money - so now he complains! And, Allawi, what has happened to the US $8.8 billion proceeds from Iraq's Oil?

Paranoia sets in

Following the attack by the terrorists on London, paranoia is setting in, in the UK.

Yesterday evening, four controlled explosions were used to dispose of a pacakge on a bus in Birmingham, the largest city of the English Midlands. Our son lives in Birmingham.

City reopens after security alert

Hundreds of people had to spend the night in Aston University after 20,000 people were evacuated from the city centre last night.

Where is this all leading to? Does this paranoia help anyone? Is it not absolute victory for the terrorists? Is it not a total loss of the "war on terror" being waged by Bush and Blair?

Stupid idiots who voted Bush and Blair back to power, let them suffer this paranoia. But it is despicable that even those who stood up against these morons have to suffer this too.

Issuing a fatwa on a dead man?

In the New York Times, the comedy routine publication emanating from New York, Thomas Friedman, on July 8th 2005 wrote in his opinion piece If It's a Muslim Problem, It Needs a Muslim Solution

To this day - to this day - no major Muslim cleric or religious body has ever issued a fatwa condemning Osama bin Laden.

Every sensible person knows that Osama bin Laden died over three years ago but has been kept alive in print by the Bush / Blair gang as their bogey man till such time as they can create a bigger bogey man.

That may come after the investigations on the London tragedy unfold.

That was the truth that emanated out of the mouth of George Bush, himself, when he said he did not spend much time thinking about Osama. That is because he knows he is dead!!

How else could a man lugging a dialysis machine be trekking in the wildeness for 4 years.

Either that or the US and British forces are remarkably incompetent, as is Mr. Friedman, in being uable to trace this man who was already half dead four years ago!!

Take your pick?

Aircraft carrier will guard Bush at G8

Remember this headline Aircraft carrier will guard Bush at G8

Bush was guarded - but what about those innocents in London?

Step 1: Remove Bush and Blair to save the world from further death and destruction.

So much for Geldof and Bono

From The New Statesman Cover Story of 11th July 2005

The ghost at Gleneagles

"In the orgy of summit coverage something has been overlooked: the two men at the heart of it, telling us how the world should be run, are the men responsible for Fallujah and Abu Ghraib." By John Pilger

"The suppression of African singers and bands, parked where Geldof decreed, in an environmental theme park in Cornwall far from the vaunted global audience, was described correctly by Andy Kershaw as "musical apartheid".

Acceptable killing

Deepak Chopra wrote:

"The first step could be to begin questioning our ideas about acceptable slaughter by any side. Is a bombing raid on a city where the majority of the dead turn out to be innocent women and children -- otherwise called "collateral damage" -- acceptable killing?"

But idiots, like Bush and Blair, will obviously never never learn as they spread the killing field in their thirst for world dominance and power.

Only way to obtain JUSTICE

"Our faith of Islam calls upon us to be upholders of justice," said Sir Iqbal Sacranie, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain.

"The day after London was bloodied by terrorists finds us determined to help secure this justice for the innocent victims of yesterday's carnage."

The only way to obtain JUSTICE is to bring Bush and Blair in front of a WAR CRIMES TRIBUNAL and punish them for the carnage they have caused, which has resulted in such horrific acts in Bali, Iraq, Syria and now London.

Stupid Blair, yet again

Mr Blair warned that security and surveillance will not be enough to stop such attacks - and that there has to be an ideological struggle in which terrorism is "pulled up by the roots".

From where, Mr . Blair?
From the hairs on his head?

At the moment all this fool is doing creating more terrorists by the minute!!

French plane returned to Paris

News has just come in that US authorities ordered an Air France flight from Paris to Chicago to turn around after only two hours in the air after concerns about a passenger.

How stupid Europeans are!!

If they have an ounce of courage, if there is any American on board any US owned airline flying from any US airport to Europe, it should be promptly turned back.

Cindy Sheehan

Although I heard the interview live yesterday morning on Air America Radio, I listened to it again today. I was deeply moved by the feeling, words and sincerity of Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son, Spc Casey Austin Sheehan, who was 24 years old, in Iraq. She is co-founder of Gold Star Families for Peace.

Cindy Sheehan, Mother of Casey

Mike Malloy, the best Talk Show host there is online, did a wonderful job of interviewing Cindy. (Cindy's words "Of all the interviews I have done this year, your's is the one which gives me most honour...")

No rightwingers ever dare to call Mike as they would be shown up for what they are - bullies and cowards, and that would never work with Mike.

The way Cindy saw evil incarnate, that was Bush, was something that I have always believed. She said that when she met Bush, she met "a man so disconnected from humanity that he can't even pretend to be a human being"..

You can listen to the interview at the archives maintained by benburch at the archives of the Mike Malloy Show and go to the show for Thursday 8th July 2005. Cindy's interview starts at about the 27th minute and goes on through 5 segments.

If there is one ounce of humanity in your veins, you will weep as you listen to this brave woman as she faces to a life without her first born, a son tricked into service on false promises and sent to his death on falsehoods by an AWOL masquerading as a C-in-C.

Arianna Huffington concurs

I wrote yesterday about Bush's completely idiotic thinking about fighting terrorism "there" to keep US safe "here" when he said "We're taking the fight to the terrorists abroad so we do not have to face them here at home.".

It is nice to note that Arianna Huffington concurs.

London: Bush’s “Flypaper Theory” is Blown to Pieces

Odds are we probably won’t be hearing for a while the Bush mantra that the reason we're fighting them over in Iraq is so we don't have to fight them here at home. For the last few months, this ludicrous shibboleth has been the president’s go-to line -- his latest rationale for slogging on in Iraq. Not only was this “flypaper theory" empirically disproved by the London carnage, it directly contradicts the president’s other most often used justification for the war -- that we invaded to liberate the Iraqi people. So let me get this straight: we invaded them to liberate them... and to use them as bait to attract terrorists who we could fight on the streets of Baghdad rather than the streets of London and New York?

Joe Wilson says it is...

On the Mike Webb Show from SEATTLE, Washington, a few minutes ago, former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson, whose wife, Valerie Plame, the CIA Operative who was outed through BOB NOVAK, to get back at the Ambassador for revealing that the document related to Uranium from Niger story was a forgery and bunkum, said that the people responsible for the treasonous outing of his wife would have been from the members of the the "White House Iraq Group" which was given the task of destroying the credibility and backbone of the Ambassador.

The members of this group were:

Karl Rove
Karen Hughes
Mary Matalin
Jim Wilkinson
Nicholas Callo (Leg. Liaison)
Condoleeza Rice
Stephen Hadley
Scooter Libby

Was the then White House Press Spokesperson, Ari Fleischer, a member of this group, or briefed by this group. There is strong speculation that it was Ari that was given the task of informing the selected press members.

It is very clear that as Bob Novak, Mathew Cooper and Judith Miller are the correspondents involved with outing Valerie Plame, and one source gave permission to Mathew Cooper to revel the source, that there could have been two or more sources and they all probably came from this White House Iraq Group plus Ari Fleischer.

Attack was 100% certainty

In an Opinion piece in The Economist
Terrorism
London under attack
Jul 7th 2005
From The Economist print edition
After the joy of winning the Olympics, evil came swiftly

there was this para:

As soon as the atrocities of New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania took place on September 11th 2001, London was assumed to be at risk of attack. That was so both because of its status as an international financial centre, an epitome of the West and its capitalist ways, and because Britain has long been a close ally of the United States, enemy number one for al-Qaeda and its terrorist associates. That likelihood only grew following Britain's participation in the invasion of Iraq in 2003, and then the terrible bombing in Madrid on March 11th 2004. In recent years every senior British policeman, intelligence chief or home secretary you cared to ask about the probability of a terrorist attack gave a similar answer: 100%.

And what are the chances of a repeat in some other part of Britain? In my mind, so long as Blair continues his "values" policy: 100%

The conclusions of this Opinion piece in The Economist are, however, deeply flawed.

Another British politician is on the ball

I was relieved to see what Robin Cook, the former Foreign Minister in Blair's Government who resigned, had to say about the London Explosions in The Guardian in an article The struggle against terrorism cannot be won by military means.

He wrote:

Yesterday the prime minister described the bombings as an attack on our values as a society. In the next few days we should remember that among those values are tolerance and mutual respect for those from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Only the day before, London was celebrating its coup in winning the Olympic Games, partly through demonstrating to the world the success of our multicultural credentials. Nothing would please better those who planted yesterday's bombs than for the atrocity to breed suspicion and hostility to minorities in our own community. Defeating the terrorists also means defeating their poisonous belief that peoples of different faiths and ethnic origins cannot coexist.

In the absence of anyone else owning up to yesterday's crimes, we will be subjected to a spate of articles analysing the threat of militant Islam. Ironically they will fall in the same week that we recall the tenth anniversary of the massacre at Srebrenica, when the powerful nations of Europe failed to protect 8,000 Muslims from being annihilated in the worst terrorist act in Europe of the past generation.

Osama bin Laden is no more a true representative of Islam than General Mladic, who commanded the Serbian forces, could be held up as an example of Christianity. After all, it is written in the Qur'an that we were made into different peoples not that we might despise each other, but that we might understand each other.

Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden's organisation would turn its attention to the west.

The danger now is that the west's current response to the terrorist threat compounds that original error. So long as the struggle against terrorism is conceived as a war that can be won by military means, it is doomed to fail. The more the west emphasises confrontation, the more it silences moderate voices in the Muslim world who want to speak up for cooperation. Success will only come from isolating the terrorists and denying them support, funds and recruits, which means focusing more on our common ground with the Muslim world than on what divides us.

London Bombings

Terrorist hit London? Any surprise?
Why do Brits speculate?
How many of you are..
Why London, Why Now?
Galloway gets it right again

From the comments that I received, it is obvious that neither the neocons, cons nor liberals, and especially the media, even the so-called "unbiased" BBC, are going to address the true reasons but will walk around the Bush, talking about protecting "values". What values?

The saying is "As you sow, you shall reap" but it is sad that it is innocents in all these countries - US, Afghanistan, Iraq, Spain, London, that are paying the price for the deeds of the killers, the chief among them being Bush and Blair.

Galloway gets it right again

[2.50pm Thursday 7 July]
Statement on the London bombings by George Galloway on behalf of Respect

We extend our condolences to those who have lost their lives today and our heartfelt sympathy to all those who have been injured by the bombs in London.

No one can condone acts of violence aimed at working people going about their daily lives. They have not been a party to, nor are they responsible for, the decisions of their government. They are entirely innocent and we condemn those who have killed or injured them.

The loss of innocent lives, whether in this country or Iraq, is precisely the result of a world that has become a less safe and peaceful place in recent years.

We have worked without rest to remove the causes of such violence from our world. We argued, as did the Security Services in this country, that the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq would increase the threat of terrorist attack in Britain. Tragically Londoners have now paid the price of the government ignoring such warnings.

We urge the government to remove people in this country from harms way, as the Spanish government acted to remove its people from harm, by ending the occupation of Iraq and by turning its full attention to the development of a real solution to the wider conflicts in the Middle East.

Only then will the innocents here and abroad be able to enjoy a life free of the threat of needless violence.

George Galloway, Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow.

Why London, Why Now?

An excellent review which confirms much of what I have written earlier but adds substantially more analtyical data can be found at Why London, Why Now? written by Patrick Doherty.

One such reasoning proposed is:

To show just how dire our global energy situation is, Saudi Arabia announced today that OPEC will not be able to meet Western demand for oil by 2015, only 10 years out. Given the timing, this is Saudi Arabia effectively saying that the time has come to turn toward more efficient use of oil, which is also one of the main ways of dealing with climate change. Saudi Arabia just undercut the Bush administration's position in Gleneagles. That should have been a major blow to the United States, but it will now be swept away by the bombings.

I am still betting that this is a Rove / Negroponte organised event.

How many of you are thinking

about what is happening in Baghdad, what happened in Fallujah?

Or are those innocent people expendable at the whims of George Bush and Tony Blair?

Why do Brits speculate?

Britain is at war - and this is the outcome of the war that they are fighting, an illegal war.

So I fail to understand all the hand-wringing and wonderment. Like the stupid Americans who re-elected (?) Bush, the Brits re-elected Blair. So they brought this on themselves.

Do the Brits think that the war will be forever restricted to other lands only where the occupation forces are killing innocent women and children.

Remember Bush's address at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, last week about keeping the terrorists on foreign lands - it shows that all he says is just a load of rubbish.

I keep hearing on BBC that the terrorists hit "without warning".

Do the American and British occupation forces in Iraq give a warning when they are carrying out barbaric attacks to kill innocent Iraqi women and children? Do the invading and occupation forces in Afghanistan and Iraq have any respect for human life?

Blame the war criminals Bush and Blair for this attack on innocent Brits.

Terrorists hit London! Any surprise?

I just heard the short statement by Tony Blair trying to condemn the terrorists for hitting London at the time the G8 is meeting at Gleneagles, in Scotland.

Tony Blair is a liar, but his statement showed he is also a fool.

When he entertains his master, pResident Bush, what does he expect - that the terrorists will leave those who are killing indiscriminately in Afghaniustan and Iraq alone.

If Bush and Blair want peace for their citizens and their country, they had better stop killing innocent civilians in those countries. The terrorists are only following the "values" of these war criminals.

The spin has started.

Let us not accept the double standards of these war criminals sitting in Gleneagles.

Is this a Rovian / Negroponte tactic to take the heat of the Downing Street Memos and the outing of Valerie Plame?

Our hearts go out to the innocents in Afghanistan, Iraq and England - but hold the correct people to blame - Bush and Blair, to account for this - NO ONE ELSE!!

Hoping Bush falls of .....

Yesterday, it was reported by AlJazeera that pResident Bush had yet again fallen his bicycle at the Gleneagles Golf Course in Scotland. This time, besides injuring himself, he also managed to injure a policeman.

Let us recap on some of his antics:

In January 2002, he choked on a pretzel at the White House - suffering scrapes to his face when he fainted and fell.
In June 2003, he couldn't stand on the much touted totally safe Segway, a motorised, two-wheel vehicle - in Kennebunkport, Maine.
In May 2004, he fell off his mountain bike at his ranch in Texas, suffering more serious injuries than he sustained yesterday.

How one wishes that this pResident would fall off his pResidential chair for GOOD.

He has already irreparably injured the world. That would be some small retribution!!

US asked to withdraw from region

At the conclusion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting at ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 5 2005, the member countries, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, included this comment relating to Afghanistan in their final communique:

However, as large-scale military operations against terrorism have come to an end in Afghanistan, the leaders urged parties to the coalition to set a deadline for the temporary use of the SCO members' infrastructure facilities and for their military presence in these countries.

Also present at this meeting were observers from India and Pakistan.

It is obvious that the presence of western powers in this region is not considered to be conducive to peace!!

Patriotism?

There is a new blog called USPATRIOTSUNITED. The principles laid out in the first post may seem very interesting to some, but I simply had to post this Comment:

Isn't patriotism followed by nationalism, the stepping stone to fascism?

Why should one be patriotic?
Should not one love one's neighbour?
And who is one's neighbour?
That poverty stricken African in Chad or a HumVee owning gallon guzzling right wing Christian fundamentalist in Idaho?

I come from country X, my wife is from country Y, two of our children are from country Z, Our other children are from countries X, Y and Z. Our sons-in-law are from countries Y and Z. Our grandchildren are from countries Y and Z.

Which country should I be patriotic to?
In what form should I show this patriotism?
(Visit my correspondence with an "educated" American at http://koti.netplaza.fi/~findians/AntiWar/USEducated/educated.html )

It is short-sighted to think in terms of patriotism. One should respect ALL one's fellow travellers on this globe immaterial of where they come from - that is true patriotism to this globe.

I recall several years ago when we were living in country X, the Embassy of country Y, my wife's country, wrote to her to register with her Embassy so she could be evacuated if there were problems in country X.

She asked them what would happen to her husband and children, none of whom at that time had citizenship for country Y. She was told that they were not included in the Embassy evacuaton programme.

My wife told her Embassy exactly where to put their evacuation programme!!

Fixing the Facts and Intelligence Around the Policy

Comment #8 posted on Congressman John Conyers Jr.'s blog: jmatthan said on 7/2/05 @ 1:03pm ET...

Dear Congressman,

All what you say in this entry was common news all over the world and has already been linked up. It seems that the "most advanced country in the world" is sadly lacking in information technology if it is only now finding this link.

Well before The Sunday Times revelation, there was the BBC PANORAMA presentation which specifically used the fixing reference.

Almost 10 million people around the world, including in our small town of 100000 people here in the Arctic held the Anti War demonstration prior to the Invasion as WE KNEW that all the claims of Blair and Bush were false.

However, thank you for your great work.

Dear Congressman,

You truly amaze me as you keep pulling the tricks out of your hat. Why are other Congressmen and women and Senators similarly not on the ball?

I do hope you will also draw attention to the Jury of Conscience verdict which was delivered last Monday at the conclusion of the World Tribunal on iraq - which castigated your country - and there was NO coverage in the US media. You can read the Press Release and the final verdict from my blog entry on Tuesday last.

The Downing Street Minutes pale in comparison to the evidence presented to the Tribunal!!

Riverbend is on the mark

Bush's stream of lies has been put in place by an excellent commentary of 1st July 2005 from Iraq's best blogger Riverbend, the girl blogger from Baghdad.

In it she asks the question about Americans -

"Bush said: “The troops here and across the world are fighting a global war on terror. The war reached our shores on September 11, 2001.”

Do people really still believe this? In spite of that fact that no WMD were found in Iraq, in spite of the fact that prior to the war, no American was ever killed in Iraq and now almost 2000 are dead on Iraqi soil? It’s difficult to comprehend that rational people, after all of this, still actually accept the claims of a link between 9/11 and Iraq. Or that they could actually believe Iraq is less of a threat today than it was in 2003.

The problem, dear Riverbend, is that the neocons are not rational people!!

Thank your dear lttle lady for blogging from inside of your hell hole caused by the Americans.
